Energy efficient production
The beverage carton industry is fully committed to using energy efficient measures to reduce its environmental impact even further, with each member company having its own CO2 reduction targets in place:

- Elopak committed to reducing CO2 emissions by 15% by 2010 when compared to 2008 levels. New targets are currently being set for 2020.
- Korsnäs’s long-term goal is to reduce its carbon footprint by 25% per unit produced between 2007 and 2020
- SIG Combibloc has set a goal to reduce CO2 emissions by 40% by 2015, from a 2009 baseline
- Stora Enso has set a CO2 reduction target of 20% by 2020, from a 2006 baseline
- Tetra Pak has committed to ensuring that by 2020, greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain are no higher than they were in 2010, despite a significant increase in the company’s business
