ACE UK's sister organisation, Brussels-based Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment (ACE), has announced the appointment of Ms Annick Carpentier as Director General, effective today. She takes over from Acting Director General Mr Kristian Hall who will continue as ACE President. Ms Carpentier joins ACE from Eurometaux, the European Federation of the Non-Ferrous Metals Industry, where she has acted as Sustainability Director.
Kristian Hall said: “We are very pleased to welcome Annick to the association. She brings extensive expertise and direct experience in the area of sustainability and environment. Annick joins ACE at a very exciting time, as our sector continues its efforts to contribute towards building a resource efficient and low-carbon circular economy in Europe.”
Annick Carpentier commented: “I am greatly looking forward to leading ACE’s advocacy at a time of critical importance for Europe’s evolution towards a circular economy.”
Ms Carpentier, a Belgian national, has extensive policy and strategy experience in the area of EU environmental policy. Before taking up her duties as ACE Director General, she worked at Eurometaux as EHS and then Sustainability Director. Prior to that, she was Secretary General of the International Confederation of Inspection and Certification Organisations (CEOC) and Deputy Managing Director at CEPI (the Confederation of European Paper Industries).
