Mandy Kelly has joined The Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment (ACE) UK as its new Senior Recycling Manager.
Mandy joins ACE UK from Palm Recycling, where she was Business Development Director, and brings over 30 years’ experience in the recycling industry. She began her career at Bridgewater Paper Mill in 1983, in finance and accounting, before joining Cheshire Recycling where she moved into business development, designing and implementing their recycling growth strategy. In 2010 Mandy became Palm Recycling’s Business Development Director.
She served as a Member for the Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) Recovered Paper Committee, and was a founder member of the Resource Association, as well as an elected board director. Mandy lives with her husband in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, and has two adult sons. She replaces Fay Dashper, who after four years in the role has moved on to new challenges.
Richard Hands, Chief Executive of ACE UK said: “We are very pleased to welcome Mandy as our Senior Recycling Manager. She brings with her a wealth of experience, and knows the recycling industry inside out. Her local authority knowledge and contacts will be a real asset as we continue to drive forward carton recycling across the UK.”
Commenting on her appointment Mandy said: “This is an exciting time to join ACE UK as recycling and sustainability continues to rise up the political agenda, particularly in light of the most recent Circular Economy proposals outlined by the European Commission.
“My predecessor is well known and respected in the industry and I am looking forward to building on the work she has done by further developing and extending carton recycling, and highlighting cartons as a sustainable, low carbon packaging choice for beverages and beyond.”
